Moving Locally within San Diego, or across town?

Local moving is often defined as a move within the same city, traveling a short distance. A local move is charged differently than a long-distance move and is calculated with an hourly rate. The hourly rate is determined by the size of your move and the distance between the pick-up and delivery locations.

As you plan for your local San Diego move, you will want to consider what parts of the move process you will want to handle on your own and which services are worth assigning to the professional movers.

The Local Move Process:

Step 1: Schedule a Free In-Home or Virtual Estimate Appointment

The first step in planning for a successful move is to visually see everything you are moving to provide an accurate quote and to be prepared for moving day. After the appointment has been completed and a detailed inventory has been prepared, we will offer you an accurate written moving quote for your personalized move plan.

Step 2: Book Your Move

Review the moving estimate with your sales representative and mutually agree to the terms regarding all noted moving services. Be sure to ask questions if anything seems unclear.

Step 3: Move Planning

Once your move date has been secured, we will put you in contact with your Move Coordinator, your single point of contact throughout your move process. Your move coordinator will help you schedule and confirm moving services, answer any questions, and ensure you are prepared for your moving day.

Step 4: Move Day

Your Move Coordinator will connect with you 24 hours before to confirm the crew’s arrival time for moving day. At the start of the day, the moving truck will arrive, and you will meet with the movers and crew leader to answer any questions and provide direction.

Step 5: Sit Back and Relax: The Professionals are Here to do the Heavy Lifting!

Someone will need to be at the residence at the start of the day to conduct the walk-through with the crew, and at the end of the day to sign the finalized paperwork and release the goods to the driver.
